THE CULTURAL WEEK (01/23/17 - 01/29/17)

Created in 2012, the Cultural Week is one of the main highlights of Babel Initiative. It aims to promote the culture of a chosen country in the Mediterranean or Middle East during a week of the academic year. The cultural week takes place several weeks before Babel Initiative’s trip to the country of choice so that the students obtain a first impression of the country they are about to travel to. Likewise, the cultural week aims to present the culture of the country to the rest of students of Science Po Paris and the community of Menton. Ultimately, it seeks to foster intercultural understanding between the countries of the Mediterranean and Middle East region.

The theme of this year’s Cultural Week is “Andalusia: inside out”. We hope to present the South of Spain by bringing together both domestic and foreign perceptions about Andalucía, and learn about this Mediterranean region not only from a Western perspective but also through Middle Eastern point of view. This year’s Cultural Week will take place from the 23rd to the 29th of January. During that week, we will host exceptional speakers from fields such as politics, science and art in our campus to fully deliver the Andalusian culture to Menton.
